Library Fact Sheet

The Bio-Medical Library:

• is open 96 hours per week
• has 40 regular staff members
• primarily serves the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center programs of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Allied Health.

The Library collections contain:

• over 500,000 volumes
• over 2,700 current print and electronic journal subscriptions

The Library provides a variety of services including:

• quick reference service for any Minnesota resident via walk-in, email, and phone
• in-depth reference consultations and office calls for U of M staff and students
• workshops/classes on a variety of information retrieval, management, and literacy topics
• librarian-mediated database searches (Citation Clarification Service)
• course reserves
• interlibrary loan
