Royal Canin Recall

Royal Canin Press Release:

On behalf of the entire Royal Canin family, our hearts go out to pet owners like you and everyone in the pet community who has been affected by all of the recent pet food recalls.

As you many know, Royal Canin USA immediately initiated a voluntary recall of the following eight dry pet food products on April 19, 2007 once our company determined these products contained a melamine derivative linked to many of the recent nationwide pet food recalls and the US Food and Drug Administration investigation into this issue.

The following list contains the only Royal Canin USA pet food products that have been recalled. All of our other products are safe for pets to eat.

Pet owners should immediately stop feeding their pets any of the following eight Royal Canin USA dry pet food products listed here:

ROYAL CANIN SENSIBLE CHOICE® (available in pet specialty stores nationwide)

- Chicken Meal & Rice Formula Senior Dry Dog Food
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Puppy Dry Dog Food
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Adult Dry Dog Food
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Senior Dry Dog Food

ROYAL CANIN VETERINARY DIET™ (available only in veterinary clinics)

- Canine Early Cardiac EC 22™ Dry Dog Food
- Canine Skin Support SS21™ Dry Dog Food

The safety and nutritional quality of our pet food is Royal Canin USA’s top priority, as we understand that the health of pets comes first. If you have additional questions about this recall and other Royal Canin USA products, please call 1-800-592-6687 or 1-800-513-0041 or contact us at info@royalcanin.us

Royal Canin USA has also announced that we will no longer use Chinese suppliers for any of our vegetable proteins.

The hard working men and women of Royal Canin USA understand that the past few weeks have been very trying for pet owners across the country. As pet owners ourselves, we want you to know we sympathize with your concerns. That is why we are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure this never happens again.
